A Mysterious Woman Named Erliza

On the right side corner of the entrance gate, before you enter my boyfriend's real estate house, a view of a beautiful woman statue would catch your eyes. It was sculptured in delicate details and highly expensive touch of artistry.

We were about to enter when she told the driver to stop so that she could show us that the statue was her impression on it. She went down and she even compared her size every details of it, even the size of her fingers and wrist, or her figure and frame...And she was right. It was really her statue.

When we reached the house, she immediately went down but with elegance. She looked for my boyfriend's father right away. My boyfriend took her inside. I was left in the living room. After less than an hour she went out with two luggage and they were all in big sizes. A 60-year-old man came out from the room with her too. I assumed it was my boyfriend's father.

She called my boyfriend and asked him to bring the two of her grandsons ages, 10 and 12. These two boys were the sons of my boyfriend's younger brother who was a pilot and was out from the country.

My boyfriend took the two boys with him and they all went to kiss her a farewell. For her it was nothing new, like everything with her was normal. After a few minutes of sweet talks, hugs and kisses, she got herself ready to leave. "Madame, let me help you, with those", the driver took the luggage from her.

I was surprise and thought, "Why is it that they all seemed strange with her, as if she never existed in their lives?"

"Erliza" my boyfriend's father called her. She looked back to him. "You take care of yourself", he said with concern on his face. She did not say anything. She just smiled sweetly back to him and waved. She entered in the back seat of the van graciously and smiling steadily. He told his driver, "Drive carefully and please take her home safe." Then he glanced and smiled back once again to Erliza and waved. He stayed there awhile until the van drove away.

My boyfriend came near me after his father entered his room and said, "Come with me sweetheart, let's meet father."

We went inside and it was a huge room, like his father lived in another partition of the house. They greeted each other like they have not seen each other in ages. "Oh my eldest son, I am so proud of you, I am really happy to have you my son in my life." His father grabbed his head and embraced him dearly. He held him on his shoulder looked at him lovingly, studied him deeply, smiled and kissed him on both cheeks.

My boyfriend introduced me to his father. His father was wearing a rounded neck white cotton T-shirt tacked in his faded jeans. He was 6 feet tall like my boyfriend's height, but with a square jaw like the famous actor Sean Connery of 007 Movies. Then a few minutes later, a young woman like my age at 24 came near his father. My boyfriend introduced her to me too. She was the wife of his father. She looked young but actually her age was already 40 years old.

Across the room there was also a woman sitting with a little boy. She was the mother of my boyfriend's son. We went near them and he also introduced me to her. He took his son from her and carried him. He told his story too, the way his father talked about him. "He is so happy for his son and how proud father he is to have his boy".

Then it just played in my mind that Erliza must have the same story just like with what happened between this woman and my boyfriend.

I just look around every corner of the house and I asked my boyfriend, "Why Erliza needs to leave this house, is she not entitled to live here too?" My boyfriend answered, "This house is our ancestral house. Erliza, my mother is never married to my father, though she is until now the mistress of this house. My father will always love her...

I find this very mysterious from the moment I woke up from this dream, and up to this time that I decided to write them down. I wish to have some answers...

Confession of a Woman

The vibrant colours of autumn were really enchanting. The trees appeared as if somebody arranged it methodically along the scenic beauty of the lake. Ms. Diana Curtis enjoyed, whenever she goes on a long drive along the lake. She was always accompanied by Mr. Peter; her trusted bodyguard. He was sincere and faithful to her. He was very reliable, trustworthy and matured in his outlook. At the outset, it appeared as if he was just an employee, yet he plays an important role. He was eyes and ears to Ms. Diana Curtis.

Ms. Diana Curtis was the renown and a greatest stock holder of Silver metal. She plays a dominant role in turning the market balance favourably or otherwise as deem fit. She was very secretive and refuses to share her plans with others, unless it is a strictly business matter restricted to the subject concerned only. She was very shrewd and aesthetic in her disposition. She avoided people who were nave and timid in nature. Peter always kept a close watch around her and was assessing existing situations and potential development. His ability to assess and evaluate unwarranted situations, and feed her the synopsis of the expected outcome, was unparallel.

Ms Curtis was invited to a corporate icon get-together; it was the most crucial evening for Diana. The party was in usual gyrating mood and the shrewd businessmen were crafting their respective niche to gain mileage out of it. Among the politicians and businessmen, the presence of social groups speaks its own importance. The celebrities from show business were selectively invited and carefully introduced to the concerned people. The overall scenario presents a routine cultural evening of elite society. However, its telltale effects were showing something different and unusual. The rival business icons have their own priorities and planning to execute their game plan. The politicians have worked out their strategies in a meticulous manner and waiting for an appropriate moment to execute it.

Mathew Arnold, the host appropriately introduced the famous show biz celebrities presenting the cultural event. The dance performance indeed focused everybody's attention to the stage. The diffuse lights were creating a romantic atmosphere. Steve Jackson a realtor of considerable magnitude whispered to his mistress to leave the function and to proceed to the office. Peter sensed the situation and alerted Diana. She immediately went to the close proximity of Steve discreetly and waiting for Peter's signal. Peter took the advantage of dimmed light and left Mathew's home. However, he whispered something in Mathew's ear prior to his departure. Mathew looked confused, puzzled and depressed. At this particular moment, Mathew behaved in an unusual manner and suddenly fell on the ground. He was rushed to the nearby hospital. The function appeared in a doldrums situation. Steve took charge and announced that it was advisable to call it a day and all guests departed.

While the guests were leaving Mathew's residence, Diana asked Steve, 'where is your mistress'?

He replied in a discreet manner. She was on her way to her home as she was not feeling well.

Diana asked again; was it a tactical manoeuvre or exigencies of the situation?

Steve replied, "You are smart enough to assess the situation."

Diana smiled and left the place; she then turned and asked Steve, 'What is the position of your Silver stock?'

Steve turned and before he could reply, she slipped like an eel and disappeared. Steve was confused and proceeded towards his office. He was totally engrossed in his thoughts and wanted to meet desperately his mistress. He reached the office and was shocked to find that his office doors were opened, and Peter was found dead on the office floor. Apparently there were no blood marks or any sign of altercation. He immediately called Diana and the police. Meanwhile, he was looking for his mistress and found her missing from the scene altogether. He kept quite without showing any sign of desperation. Diana reached the Mathew's office just before the police arrived. She immediately knelt down and started crying and kissing Peter. She was made to move away from Peter's body. The police arrived and did the preliminary investigation and asked Mathew and Diana to be at the police station on the following morning. In the morning, all the news papers flashed the news; "Market crashed and silver prices fell to its lowest level in the decade".

Mathew was hospitalized and his condition became critical. Finally, he succumbed to the massive heart attack. Steve's mistress disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The police has questioned Diana and tried to unearth the lead to the whole mystery. Police was keeping a close watch on Diana while they were searching the documentary evidence of the chaotic scenario. Diana was recalled at the police station for further questioning. The inspector asked Diana about her relationship with Peter. He showed her a note from Peter; it was written in a code, "SOME".

She broke down and revealed that Peter was the stockbroker and her lover. It was her plan to coax Mathew and Steve to invest in Silver. They both took her advice and invested their fortune. They become rich and famous. Steve made a fortune and became a big builder. Mathew has become a power lobbyist. Both invested their fortune in a mega project and took a huge amount of loan from the bank. Steve's mistress was a mole introduced to Mathew by Peter. Diana suspected Steve's mistress has poisoned Peter. Mathew lost his fortune and succumbed. Steve forced to abandon the project. He was cornered and the mega project was incapacitated. Peter was disguised as her body guard, yet he was her lover and a big broker. Steve's mistress was Peter's lover. This vicious circle has left everybody in a doldrums and ended many in a chaotic state. She deciphered the code to the inspector. She said that 'SOME' indicated silver off loaded and Mathew eliminated. She also knew that Steve will become a pauper in a short time. She will then purchase their share and continue to be the top most silver stock holder.

It was the power, position and status that driven her to resort to such heinous crime. It was the tragedy that entangled her, and she became a victim of her own game plan. The news spread like a wild fire, and it took the toll in an unprecedented manner. It made many investors bankrupt. She turned to Steve and whispered in his ear that his days are numbered. Steve became a victim of her psychological game plan and went into oblivion. The inspector escorted her to the police custody, and later she was produced in the court. The jury found Diana guilty of conspiracy leading to financial debacle and death of Mathews and Peter." The disappearance of Steve's secret still remained a secret. The court pronounced the judgment and sentenced Diana to life imprisonment.
